Learning and Life Classes_7 Habits

It is very rightly said in Sanskrit,

“Vidyam Dadati Vinayam,
Vinayad Yaati Patratavaam,
Patratwad Dhanam Aapnoti,
Dhanaat Dharmam Tatah Sukham”
This means – Knowledge or Learning gives Humility, Humility makes one Deserving, Being deserved leads one to be Wealthy. With wealth, one performs righteous actions ( one’s duty or Karma), and that leads to Happiness. In other words, Vidya – Knowledge or Learning is substratum of happiness.
To my mind, this clarifies learning of Life Classes that has not only helped me develop personally first and then professionally. And this might be the case with most of us, who have attended various life classes, as basically we learn something that is leading to Happiness in the true sense of the term. Even, the type of learning is such that leads to performing our duties at our best in any sphere of life.
It has been an enriching learning experience during the 7 Habits Life Classes. The Habits were known earlier as I had already read the book, but the time and opportunity given to connect, reflect and act have added more insights to the existing knowledge and made it richer and more valuable. All the sessions have given insights that have helped me understand myself and my dealings at personal as well as professional levels. The points like – How to decide Priority, 4 Quadrants, Moving from dependence to independence to inter-dependence, Circle of Influence and Concern, Principle-Centred life, EBA have really been useful for daily work and responsibilities.
Thanks to both the facilitators for making us learn in the true sense of the term. Their efforts in planning and conducting sessions are, indeed, commendable, and hence, appreciated.
A good initiative by FS as a school with a view to investing for the growth of Human beings – which is, indeed, appreciated. I am sure these efforts will enhance the ‘Patrata – being deserved through such Vidya – Learning or Knowledge’ in the true sense of the term, which is ‘the substratum of happiness’.
Congratulations to all the organizers and participants for their journey of Learning. Let’s keep this spirit up.

Reflection time..

The purpose of life-class according to me was not only to make one aware about the seven habits and its application however it is an initiative to help us to know and understand the people around us. Everyday we are all so busy in our day to day activities and our minds are so occupied that we cannot have enough time to talk about the things related to ones lives and to understand each-other’s perceptions. Life-class more or less became a platform to share the experiences and views without the thought that anyone would judge you as we were all  strangers at first. It helped us to connect with people based on who they are rather than on what work they do. The seven habits definitely helped us to grow. I understood how to segregate things which are under your control and which are not and also extended the possibility of changing certain things. It helped me to get a better understanding about me. It was facilitated well by both our facilitators (Chestha Ma’am and Juhi Ma’am) for which I am thankful.

“The Great Discovery”

Sharing what best I have gained through the life classes:

Our life doesn’t just “happen.” Whether we know it or not, it is carefully designed by us. The choices, after all, are ours. We choose happiness. We choose sadness. We choose decisiveness. We choose ambivalence. We choose success. We choose failure. We choose courage. We choose fear. Just remember that every moment, every situation, provides a new choice. And in doing so, it gives us a perfect opportunity to do things differently to produce more positive results.

“Wonderful experience”

7 habits..!

As I came to know about the 7 habits session, I was like what is this session about? But as soon as I attended all the session I learnt so many things which were useful to me in my personal and professional life.

I learnt about paradigm shifting, I learnt to become proactive. Before attending these session I was not able to manage my personal and professional life but after attending I actually came to know about the problems and solutions for the same.

This is something that we know everything but we are not able to put solution in the actions because we want some push from our colleague or friend or a family member. And this push I got from my facilitators, Nisha ma’am and Bhumika ma’am.

I want to thank them both.

Thank you so much for showing the right path 🙂

A new experience..!!

7 Habits..!!

Attending 7 habits classes was something like again join the school life as students where teacher take lectures.. And you feel bored as usual.. but like in school as a student we feel that why studies are important..why education is needed?? Same as now after joining 7 habits classes,  I felt bored but after completing 7 habits sessions, I understood that its so much useful in personal life as well as in professional life just like education. It helps us to balance our personal and professional life.

It was a very nice experience. I have started following some of the learning in my personal life as well as in professional life. Learning these habits and putting them into action is still sometimes a challenge. However, there is always a hope. I am still learning and will continue to be life-long learner.

At last I want to thank my both the facilitators.. Chesta ma’am and Juhi ma’am.

Thanks a lot 🙂

Lots of love,

Palak joshi.

“Journey to the self !!”

Most of us probably don’t believe that we need a formal definition of happiness; we know it when we feel it, and we often use the term to describe a range of positive emotions, including joy, pride, contentment, and gratitude.
For me it means when you take  responsibility of yourself, when you feel the experience of joy, contentment, or positive well-being, combined with a sense that your life is good, meaningful, and worthwhile then actually you are practicing happiness.
I joined the program with a thought that meditation needs a lot of concentration to relieve stress and so I was inquisitive to know the process of meditation and how actually it helps to relieve stress. After learning Sudarshan Kriya, I realized that meditation happens effortless. Though it surely improves our concentration. I could feel the positive vibes in me after following it sincerely and being disciplined.
I would like to share a personal  experience that I had two weeks ago. I used to get hyper when it comes to disagreement about any topic and take unnecessary tension. When I came across a  situation of the same earlier, I used to be upset for days, but the ‘happiness Program’  just worked like miracles. Now I feel so relaxed and calm that I can continue with my routine without my past hampering my present and future growth.
My big realization is when we take decisions out of frustration or stress, we tend to take a hasty and a wrong one. On the other hand, decisions taken with a cool and relaxed mind brings clarity of mind to take better decisions in life.

Art and Skills- A year long journey.

I was very excited when we started with “art and skills classes”, also after looking at the list of participants my reaction was, “MY GOD! mar gae, ye sab log bhi hai ismain”, inko art karwate karwate kahi hum apne skills bhul nehi jaen”……….. but as we started, slowly and gradually I realized that I was SOOOOO wrong, absolutely wrong. And now I am very sure, that whoever it may be, whatever profession he is coming form, irrespective of what he/she teaches, Art will always be an important part of their lives.

The enthusiasm of participants made us (the facilitators) feel energetic even after the tiring hours of the day. I could see people being themselves on the days of life classes. It has always been a great experience working with all the participants. The best part about the workshop was nagging them to get up and go for breaks, for which they were never ready. It was difficult for us to make those enthusiastic bums to get up form their places. Those actions meant much more than appreciation.

Be it a simple drawing or a time consuming artwork, everything was as unique as a Picasso painting………. All our newly originated Picassos will be soon displaying their talent.

Here is a glimpse of the moment(s)…………………..

My Journey of Arts!!

Exploring different forms of art and learning something new in each session, is something which I will always cherish. This workshop has brought me much closer to Arts as a whole, and I discovered a hidden artist in me. I usually liked Painting and Dancing, when it comes to arts. However, lately, I realized that Cooking was always an underlying passion. It was funnnnn exploring these different art forms. It made me connect well with my inner self and I was amused as it helped me work on the spiritual well-being in my life.

Thank you Arts and Skills Team, it was a frisky experience for me!! Looking forward to much more interesting sessions next year!! 🙂

Change the change…and see the change..

The 7 habits book, through life classes has striven to illuminate on the ways to develop, grow and nurture emotional and social attitude towards fathoming accordance, to carry on flexible and worthy relations with people and profession in this juggernaut society!!

It also focuses on the fact that we are often inconsiderate towards the perception of the people surrounding us and only focus on ours which makes us rigid as well as uncompassionate. Only and only if our perception towards the world changes, can we change ourselves for better, thereby attaining a higher level of intellectual insight and perception towards the intricacies of life, people and relation…

On the other hand people resort to trivial and hollow means which seems easier to achieve success which is always and obviously short lived .This leads to an undesired and catastrophic results which are short termed, not meeting the required purpose.

A concrete and ethically substantial way to shift paradigms and alter and mould our attitude and behavior is the need of  the hour. The 7 habits beauty lies in its prophetic endeavour to deliver the pillars of improvement in us, by following one habit, leading to follow all others behind.

The flame of change we wish to see in others, first has to light and burn inside us to shed the darkness of unrealistic abominations and inhibitions and to create the glow of mature inquisitiveness towards the novel concepts and bridges as prophesized in this book of magnanimous and mammoth heritance.

7 HABITS – NO LESS THAN 7 WONDERS

Being a teacher, its very easy for me to conduct classes, but to facilitate 32 adults was a very different experience. All of them were acquaintances to each other, but as we started sharing, the journey seemed to flow well. It had become like a family. I believe that “Nature gives you only that task, for which you are competent”. So having faith in this, I started my journey and took charge. It gave me a new perspective in life. Gradually, as the reflection of every habit was being shared, I realized that I can make a difference in somebody’s life and this made me feel more motivated and more dedicated towards the task given to me. I am not an avid reader, but honestly, as this opportunity came my way; it made me cultivate a habit of reading. This is the best thing that happened to me because as wise people say “A book is man’s best friend”. This simple sentence has a lot of depth to it. It conveys that if one cultivates reading in her/his life, he/she will never be lonely. Therefore, I realize that by being a facilitator I have already made a big investment for my life.

I would like to sum up, by saying that, “All the 7 habits are like swords that can be used in different battles of life.” Everyone has ups and downs in their life. But the skill is, when and how to use these swords of 7 habits effectively.

I acknowledge and appreciate the participants of life class beta for their cooperation and for indirectly contributing to my growth.
