Emotional Intelligence

I had just heard the terminology of emotional intelligence before the start of this life class, but now I realize after attending four sessions how important it is in my professional as well as personal life, and how this skill is very much required in today’s VUCA world. What are the three types of happiness and how pleasure, passion and purpose are very much interdependent and how these forms are of happiness are related to motivation and what are the three steps process of motivation, how I have to align my work with the values I possess, what are the values the famous personalities used to possess, and how resilience is going to help to overcome from the failure.

CT Day 3-4 Baises and Ethical Delamas

My learning from CT Day 3 and 4:

  1. I got to about the different types of biases. In real life, we use all the bais. Knowing about bais will help in to think from different perspectives, everyone is right in their way. Keeping aside the affinity bias will help me to take a fair decision.
          2. Ethical dilemmas- Knowing about my own moral values and understanding that every individual has their own moral value that varies from culture to culture.
          3. Research work – While the research task, I learned that asking questions to myself helped me to know the truth about the topic/issue.
Overall: Respecting an individual’s perspective as everyone belings different culture but when needed we should also be making a decision based on universal truth.

Emotional intelligence

We all have some or other emotions at every moment and so our actions are accordingly. I can control my emotions and think before showing any emotions but was not aware the terms such as Self-awareness and Self -regulations. In this life class I have learnt many new terms and strategies to live a happy life.

We are living in VUCA world.(volatility, uncertainty, complexity and Ambiguity) where we face unexpected challenges. So we have to prepare for it and for this EI is necessary. Therefore in the coming years, EI is an essential skill that all should have to learn.

If we are emotionally intelligent we can face challenges, can think critically and so we become more confident.

There are six universal emotions Happy, sad, Disgust,  fear, surprise and angry in which all have same facial expressions.

We should understand our emotions as well as of others to.

There are five domains of Emotional intelligence which are categorized between intrapersonal and interpersonal.,  4. Empathy  5. Social Skills

  1. Self-awareness- We should be self-aware of our emotions so that we should know what we are doing or why we are doing it. To be more Self-aware we should follow Mindfulness (meditaion, walking and listening)
  2. Self-regulation – We should not flow through our emotions. We should be enough mindful and strong enough to regulate our emotions. Mindful listening, Meditation, and mindful walking will help us to regulate our emotions.

Our worries should be healthy so that we should plan beforehand to tackle them,.

3.Self Motivations- In which we learned about three types of Happiness-

Pleasure, Passion and purpose.

In Vardan sir’s session, we got more insights about Pleasure, passions and Purpose. It is difficult to differentiate between pleasure and passion. We get pleasure from small things we do or get but for passion, we need to take out the time and put effort into it.

Sometimes our Passion doesn’t incline with our purpose. So it is good if we make small small goals and then achieve our big purpose of life.

We are the only ones who can make us happy.

IKIGAI – Four Quadrants activity helped to identify our passion, liking, love and Purpose of our life.

As we are working in the organization so it is essential to create a positive environment and be mindful there so all should understand each other, improve their performance, increase their well-being and live a happy life at the workplace as well as personally.

This way the four days of life class were very fruitful for me.

Emotional Intelligence

Life classes have always helped me widen my horizons. This life class have helped me get acquainted with innumerable terminologies. It has also helped me widen my horizons.

These classes surely serve as stress busters. Amygdala hijack, ikigai quadrnats, intrinsic motivation, Siberian North rail road and many more conceptual and meaningful discussions have helped me grow personally as an optimistic personality with a pragmatic approach.

Real life experiences shared by other group members have helped me become open minded. these classes are surely rejuvenating and serve as a stress buster. Looking forward to more sessions that will help me unleash my potential and maximize my productivity in my personal as well as professional life

Emotional Intelligence- Explore yourself

It is important to be aware about your own emotions and the ways to express them knowing the facts that emotions are temporary and we can change them that will result in change in approach to the situations that trigger us, to make ourselves and people around us safe mentally and physically.

This helps in personal growth, improve personal and professional relationship we have. We need to be mindful which is a state that is between the stimulus and response. To attend it, we need to develop the skill called emotional intelligence. We all often fail to be in this state of being reactive to the stimulus and stay in that state of emotions that is called Amygdala hijack. There are three domains of emotional intelligence- Self awareness, self regulations and intrinsic motivation.

We do all of this for the ultimate goal being happy. There are three kinds of happiness- pleasure, passion and purpose. If you find a purpose, you can envision and anticipate the results. In order to get desired result, you challenge yourself knowing more and developing more skills and you develop interest in what you are doing. When we achieve the desired result ,we are motivated for bigger goals for ourselves, community and more.

Emosons ka achaar dalna sikhiyeee

These life class days gives a wonderful opportunity for most of the people to talk their heart out.. It is a joyful sight to see people so proactive in sharing their personal thoughts and feelings in a comfortable space. The emotional intelligence classes are filled with buzzwords like self awareness, auto pilot mode, flow, instant and delayed gratification, self motivation, fight and flight mode and so on.. The open ended discussions, informative videos and guest sessions by real life achiever are insightful and paradigm shifting.
All in all, emotions ko align kijiye passion and purpose ke saath aur Jeevan ko badalte hue khud hi Anubhav kijiye 😀

Emotional Intelligence

So far, It was a wonderful experience being a part of the emotional intelligence life class.

Right from learning about six basic emotions, to how our brain gets attacked by Amygdala. From self-awareness to self-regulation. Everything was so interesting and meaningful.

The best part was sharing done by the facilitators and the guided meditation. It gave me the time to reflect on myself. I learnt that it is ok to feel all emotions but how to regulate and respond in different situations matters.

I am a highly emotional person and I hopefully wish to take the learning to my life

Emotional Intelligence

Self awareness, Self regulation and Motivation goes step by step. We also got a good understanding about Pleasure/Passion/Purpose how they are interrelated. How self control on our emotions is important and how to take a pause instead of reacting. It is important to understand when to take a flight and fight mode. Also how to manage skills and challenge, How challenge gives us a purpose. How to manage amygdala hijack? It is important to have emotional intelligence for ones own piece of mind and to have a better world.

Sab emotions ka khel he 🤟🏻

Self assessment and self regulations are important for humans. If you are aware of how you feel and how to respond at different times, your life will be free from amygdala hijack. Mindfulness is something that has to be practiced at all times and intrinsic motivation is always required to keep moving forward positively. We might have our own triggers but how not to let it rule is on us. We can use little breaks and pauses to think and respond rather than reacting. It is all about fight to flight mode.
