Happiness is a mirage!!!

Having steped in the happiness world helped enlighten my mind and soul. Sidarshan kriya acted as fertilizer to help me relief  from my talkative mind and gain peace. Now I feel I am at the right  place, not in search of happiness because happiness doesn’t come with conditions we have to live in the present and be happy.

Lastly I like to end it with a quote by Mother Teresa which says:” Let us always meet each other with smile, for the smile is the beginning of love.”

Be happy…no matter what!!

Happiness classes reflection.

I don’t know how to start and I am really not good at writing. I couldn’t come on the second day of the happiness class as I was not feeling well. I want to say that I had learned the ‘Sudarshan Kriya’ about 9-10 years ago, at that time this course was known as the ‘Basic’ course of the ‘Art of living’. That was a good experience, but this time I felt better than before. Better in the sense, I could see a ‘Chakra’ which was revolving and a flame during the meditation and something (a kind of string) was going upside from the bottom in the body. It felt like, ‘Na din tha aur na raat thi, bus mai tha sirf mai’ during the meditation. After the ‘Sudarshan Kriya’ whenever I do the meditation, every time I see a flame and the godess ‘Gayatri’. I really don’t know what it is, but it really gives me a pleasure. the ‘Yog Nidra’ after lunch was also a good experience.

My feelings – Happiness is within ourselves

My feelings 😊

Tuesday, the morning of 29th May, with great hope, I started my day with a thought that now I am going to learn how to be happy. Then facilitator said “No, I am not going to teach you all these things which you have think of.” What… why… how…all these thoughts were in my mind. 😱😨* ” *

Now I can understand what facilitator meant with her first line..  that happiness is within ourselves. Now it’s the time I need to open my eyes and look around me. I want to grab all the opportunities. I don’t want to loose this energy, so I will surely do Sudarshan kriya everyday. Thank you all…😀😀😀

Exploring Happiness

One fine day I stepped in the room to attend a session “Happiness” with many pre notions carrying with me. I was not having the idea of what I will have at the time of exit, but things happened beyond my imagination. The first surprise of understanding the 7 level of existence. knowing that breathing techniques is the path to happiness and then the 5 golden rules to be happy. Sudarshan kriya was the turning point of my life. I am person who believe in leaving each moment and accept people, things and situation as they come so this made me happy to pat myself for not being lost in world or be a football to others opinion.
lastly would like to add that the journey has started and long way to go, which I have to keep reminding my mind as I am the owner and I have to guide it.

Happiness life class

The word ‘Happiness’ earlier I  understood that a smile on our face or laughing with someone, enjoyment but after joining this life class, there is a different meaning of Happiness.

In this session I learnt that when there is a peace in mind then you can feel happiness. When you are not affected because  of the actions of others and remain calm by controlling your emotions, it means you have self control . There is a power inside you which gives you the strength to live with your happiness and let it be in life as it’s going on because we can’t change the situations only we have to learn to survive according it.

I learnt Sudarshan kriya, meditation which helped me a lot to calm my anger and  gives me inner energy. I also learnt many assanas which help me to keep me physically as well as mentally healthy.

Through one activity I learnt many other things as we don’t need words to convey our message there are our emotions which put sense in the words.

Happiness session has shown me a path which can help me to lead a healthy and happy life.  I was thinking only what can I do to keep me healthy, how can I manage my stress, how can I get energy to do work, all these I am giftes from ‘Happiness session’

Thanks to all those who are involved to give me a wonderful gift of life.

“તમારાથી, તમારા સુધીનું પ્રયાણ” (Journey by you towards yourself)

What comes first when you listen to the word ‘Happiness?’ – Smile from the depth of the heart, right?

Happiness is a combination of how satisfied you are with your life  and how good you feel on a day-to-day basis. Both of these are relatively stable—that is, our life changes, and our mood fluctuates, but our general happiness is more genetically determined than anything else. Yes, it needs consistent effort.

Happiness is the center of our life. Who does not want to be happy in their life? I remember when our first session began, Sir asked all the participants to write about ‘Your expectation from life’ and I still remember everyone had this point in their answer that ‘We want peace in our life’. I really enjoyed and learned so much in this program like, “How to balance life, How to control anger, How to maintain relationship, How to take things the other way round,…..”. We learned how to train our mind. It is not only how to meditate but also a mixture of Yoga and meditation and when it comes together our life becomes perfect. I feel the difference in my life and I have experienced that change in my life now. It gave me courage to confess and helped me clarify issues with others (which bothered me since a long time), even to build a good relationship and understanding with my family members and others. Now I can track what my mind tells and how I should act. Meditation is really effortless and once you do it, it starts happening very naturally. There are some principles, if we follow them majority of our life will change.

I have had a similar experience earlier, as after I started doing Sudarshan Kriya, Sahaj Samadhi and Padmasadhana I found that my positive thinking was affecting my life as I started thinking, it happened. Sahaj samadhi is really very ‘सहज’(सरल).  I have experienced once we firmly decide to do something(खरे मन से ‘संकल्प’ करे तो)it affects our present and future. I have started to “live in present”

I have read somewhere that, “Your difficulties appear to be very big, lift your eyes because you are only focused on yourself. If you lift your eyes up and look at those who are in a worse condition than you, you will suddenly feel that your burden is not as bad as you thought it was.”

In the end, I would say that some things are the same and the revision of the Life classes in our school brings about new learning which enlightens. So, special thanks to our management for giving us this wonderful opportunity and time to know and explore one’s self.

Happiness is Knowing Yourself

Getting to know yourself allows you to jump into a well of happiness. Self-knowledge is important for one main reason: because it offers us a route to greater happiness and fulfillment.

Happiness Program helped us to know ourselves. I had a preconception that it’s difficult to meditate. I felt nauseated while closing my eyes but after learning Pranayam, Sudarshan Kriya, Padmasadhna and Sahaj Samadhi meditation, now I can meditate effortlessly for more than 30 minutes. This program helped me in being mindful i.e. now I live in present.

I would like to share a stage where I was enlightened while performing Sahaj Samadhi. I was in a different mode after doing meditation. Sahaj Samadhi is a stress buster for me.

I would also like to share that I had a frozen shoulder and I was unable to move my shoulder. The doctor suggested a visit to physiotherapist. It was difficult for me to perform Pranayam but Shruti(my facilitator) asked me to continue Pranayam and Sudarshan Kriya. It’s a great feeling to share that now my frozen shoulder is cured just because of Pranayam and Sudharshan Kriya.

It was an amazing experience to attend all the sessions of Happiness Program. This program has helped me in many ways. All the principles which were shared during the program have given me a different insight to look at the problems. Now I know how to dig deep and come up with the solutions.

“Journey to the self !!”

Most of us probably don’t believe that we need a formal definition of happiness; we know it when we feel it, and we often use the term to describe a range of positive emotions, including joy, pride, contentment, and gratitude.
For me it means when you take  responsibility of yourself, when you feel the experience of joy, contentment, or positive well-being, combined with a sense that your life is good, meaningful, and worthwhile then actually you are practicing happiness.
I joined the program with a thought that meditation needs a lot of concentration to relieve stress and so I was inquisitive to know the process of meditation and how actually it helps to relieve stress. After learning Sudarshan Kriya, I realized that meditation happens effortless. Though it surely improves our concentration. I could feel the positive vibes in me after following it sincerely and being disciplined.
I would like to share a personal  experience that I had two weeks ago. I used to get hyper when it comes to disagreement about any topic and take unnecessary tension. When I came across a  situation of the same earlier, I used to be upset for days, but the ‘happiness Program’  just worked like miracles. Now I feel so relaxed and calm that I can continue with my routine without my past hampering my present and future growth.
My big realization is when we take decisions out of frustration or stress, we tend to take a hasty and a wrong one. On the other hand, decisions taken with a cool and relaxed mind brings clarity of mind to take better decisions in life.

“Do it until you become it !”

Life is still the same. Now, more contented and happier within. And a lightness outside too.

Are we really in control of our mind, the thoughts, feelings or impulsively driven by the mind?

For many of us, the mind is very tricky to handle and goes haywire, keeps playing its tricks. We have a problem in letting go, urge to control leading to anxiety, restlessness and soured relationships. We always seek for perfection, this is how it should be or it shouldn’t be like this. We want people to live by “my way”/our standards.

There is a definite connection between mind and breath. How we feel simultaneously impacts the rhythm of the breath. Whenever one is angry breath flows rapidly, when one is sad or sick, the outgoing breath is longer. The feeling of incoming breath is almost negligible. When one is happy, joyful the breath is lighter, uplifting.

Despite my best efforts I could not control my mind or feelings, thoughts. Many people told me not to feel this or that, It will affect your health or don’t think this/that way. I studied through school, colleges but nowhere I was taught the link between mind and thoughts/feelings. We know so much about the outer world but not much about our inner world. Hardly any of my elders or teachers knew how to connect these two worlds. How to use breath to control the mind. What are the laws on which the mind works? How do I save my mind ??

Somebody said, “Your mind is your best friend and could be your worst enemy”. This is so true when it is playing a role of an enemy, it keeps holding onto past experiences and we can’t see things from a fresh perspective.  When it is a friend, it perceives knowledge and brings happiness and freedom. Being in knowledge, I could recognize that this is all my mind; judging people and situations, holding concepts about myself and others. And it holds me from moving on with peace inside and smiles outside. I recognized that I am making a mess of everything in my mind and around me. There is so much to do and the time in hand remains limited. The energy level becomes THE factor. How to achieve my personal and professional goals in such limited time!!

“Happiness Program” was the 1st place where I learned the connection as well as how to use this to my advantage. I also learned the laws on which the mind works. It helped me widen my smile. The techniques and knowledge sessions in it helped me, 1st of all to see the calmer, stable, happy (from within, without reason), joyous, quite me. My experience told me if I keep working on it, I can make it my dominant state on a day to day life.

Spiritual practices like few minutes of yoga, pranayama, Sudarshan kriya, and meditation on daily basis calms my mind and gives a deep rest. It doesn’t mean I don’t get angry or restless or anxious but it doesn’t stay longer anymore. It is becoming shorter and shorter in duration and intensity. I’m continuing to practice until they become my very own nature.

Listening to the experiences of the Happiness participants brings joy to me. Their sharings on how they are dealing with small little things of day to day life in a relaxed state of mind and about their improved health. They have become more patient with people around them, both at home and at work.

What I’m experiencing, I wish others to experience the same joy and peace within; become stress-free and maintain harmony with the uncertainties of life.

Shruti Patel 🙂
