Life Class 2020 7 Habits Reflection

2020 has been a weird year for me. On one hand, the world was going through a ridiculous time, suffering through a pandemic, with people losing jobs, and lives, and not knowing what to do. On the other hand, I got my first job, in such a well-reputed school like Fountainhead, even before I completed my Bachelors. And the online format was just as new to me as the offline format would’ve been, and I was adapting to everything new with great excitement and enthusiasm. Life Class was something I was very excited about, and I hoped it would help me improve my life in some aspects.

And it did not disappoint. Now, the things we learned in Life Classes weren’t something extremely profound or secrets that give magical powers, but they were deeply insightful and important for daily routine, if applied. These occasional classes served as constant reminders for us to keep seeking improvement in our daily lives. It was a good mix of theory and practicals. We got many perspectives and the facilitators did an excellent job of keeping us all engaged, despite the DL format. I don’t think I got any direct results from life class learnings, but I do believe that I picked parts of it subconsciously and was able to apply them somewhat. Earlier I was very inconsistent in reading books, for example, but towards the end of the Life class journey, I see that I’ve become a regular reader.

Another major takeaway from the life classes was getting to know the FS people outside our teams. As all my interactions in FS had been online, I knew very few people outside of my Maths team, but Life Classes with all its interactive activities helped in breaking that wall for me and getting to know more people from various parts of FS.

It has been a really good journey, and I’m hoping that next year we can have Life Classes offline, which could be even better!
