7 habits-Alpha

Ever since I joined the school, I had been listening about life classes. There were various perspectives of people and most of them were speaking about the changes in their lives after the life classes. So, I was also very excited about attending and witnessing the journey of transformation. But back in my mind, I was thinking what are life classes? How could they bring change in anyone’s lives? But to my surprise(as FS never fails to surprise the teachers), it(life classes) indeed bought a little change in me too(complete transformation is a long process.)

The very first habit of ‘Being proactive’ instead of being reactive taught me about how I could not react to situations merely by judging them. Moreover, ‘Begin with the end in mind’ really left us thinking that we should stop cribbing over materialistic things because it is people who matter the most and also start to decide your goals(where ones want to reach and plan accordingly. The best take away from the sessions was the paradigm shifts as well as the circles of concern and circles of influence and moving from independence to inter-dependence as well as creating the personal mission statement which will help me to stay more focused.

The habit of ‘Put first things first’ taught me how little things also matter along with big things and life should have everything in it but you need to adjust according to your needs. The four quadrants proved useful to bifurcating our priorities. The habit ‘Seek first to understand and then to be understood’ taught me the importance of empathetic listening and how being heard is of utmost importance to everyone.

I would like to thank FS for helping me to learn new things as well as bringing a change in the way I think which will definitely change my life to an extent.

Reflection of Life class – 7 Habits class

For me, attending a life class is being a wonderful experience. Each habit teaches how our life can be worth living both the way, professional and personal. I have started identifying what’s good and bad in me. I never realised this before. I am really grateful to this. In the class each habits are being explained with certain examples and true/realistic instances. There we can join the dots where this can relate to our lives too and there we are being able to identify and analyse our ongoing life. The best part for me was the second habit which is “Begin with End in mind”. That touched me a lot. In fact I have started working on it too. I think I have started prioritise my work in a well manner At school and at home as well. Thus I get a time for Me and able to focus on myself/my likes-dislikes/my dearest people.
I would like to thank Fountainhead school for giving such exploration and our facilitator for taking each wonderful sessions. This couldn’t be as fruitful as really it is without their support and their involvement.

Life Class 2020

it was an enriching journey starting from habit 1 to the last journey. a journey where I learnt from other’s experience and there were also many ups and downs, some misunderstandings, but as a whole, a worthy journey. in this course, I met different people, interacted with them and learnt a lot. And thank you so much Varsha and Swati ma’am to make it more interesting.

Journey of Life class

“Sometimes people are beautiful.
Not in looks.
Not in what they say.
Just in what they are.”
― Markus Zusak

This quote can sum up my feelings associated with the Life class.
The first day of Life class: I entered the room full of unknown faces, I felt downhearted. In no time, we started knowing each other and other realities of life. I felt so grateful and comfortable.

The sessions were perfectly planned where we got an opportunity to connect the learning with our personal life. The sharing part was the best. I never felt so comfortable sharing things about my life with people I barely knew.
The comfortable venues, interesting activities, engaging games, dancing and playing in the break time, lots of group pictures, perfect lunch-time vibes are few of the memories of Life class (Beta).
And it wouldn’t be possible without our dearest and supportive facilitators: Varsha ma’am and Swati ma’am.
Thank you for this beautiful learning experience.

REFECTION OF LIFE CLASS – 7 HABITS

This was my first time ever to see such an event happening in a school. Life Class was totally a new concept and platform to me. I never knew the journey in Life Class could so amazing and unique to feel and lead in life. I have experienced very positive emotions here and also upgraded intellectual abilities. I still remember about one activity we did. It was “Keep End In Your Mind” Activity which was related to your death bed, wherein we were insisted for Letter writing was highly effective in its own manner. We wrote Sorry Letter and Thank You Letter for people in our life respectively. I wrote Unspoken Words in the letters which was heartwarming.

We also had a Trip to Hazira – Dumas Beach with all team members which was joyful. In this activity I got an opportunity to know other team members very well thereby expanding my network and building new relations in F.S. We hosted games for everybody and all of the members enjoyed very much.

Talking about my Facilitator, well I must say the facilitator I got was very good, supportive and understanding. The role of a facilitator in Life Class is very acute and important in our carving ourselves.

Last but not the least, Life Classes is effective as I got near about solutions to my problems. It is a platform which one cannot afford to miss any moment of time.

Accessing life!

I was taking my training to become facilitator and I really loved to read the book of seven habits by Stephen Covey. But I was bit reluctant to participate initially when we had the session of 7 habits in our life classes. There were many different realization to me in that window of time. Few sessions made us laugh, few made us critically think about some points in our life and few session brought tears too. Like yes few things started bringing to core of Stephen’s philosophy. The best part is mostly all including teachers, students and other stakeholders are given life classes and they try to seek to make it as practice.

I loved the topics of emotional banking and I truly believe that relationship too mostly work as same as interests in banking. The more you give the time to your companions, you get the best interests. Take time, yes!

Thanking for this wonderful days which turned dimension of my thoughts!

7 Habits Beta

The Journey of life class(7 habits) began in May 2019, I have learned a great deal of timeless principles that yield greater productivity, improved communications, strengthened relationships, increased influence, and laser-like focus on critical priorities. This Life class has helped me to grow as a person, to develop mission, vision and values within myself, to see and understand things through different paradigms, to live a balanced life and innumerable other things.

It was a wonderful and brilliant experience to meet and interact with different people, people having different personalities(charming in their own way) and perspectives. I am very grateful to Swaati ma’am and Varssha ma’am for being an excellent, outstanding, compassionate and considerate, vivacious, benign, genuine and courteous facilitators. I am thankful to Fountainhead for giving me such an amazing experience, I am thankful to each and every great personality who was with me throughout this journey of life class. As now we are about to end this wonderful journey, I would always be delighted to reminisce about this journey.

Heard of this class, “Life class”, and landed amongst 20 anonymous people along with 2 facilitators, with no hint what it was all about. I was required to share my experience in front of all and I also did. You know why? All thanks to the facilitators’ who built an environment where everyone felt secure to share…YAY!!!! For me, these were the classes I waited for, and the reason was juggling between household chores and schoolwork, we scarcely find time to lean on our back and speak our heart. The fascinating thing was, people, listen to you here!!! It was a very cheering experience as I saw people were very courageous to show both the sides of their life.

“Do not wait for the things to happen- make them happen” – Sadhguru
Suddenly, we all were demanded to think, if we just had 24 hrs left, what were the things we would do. That “Deathbed” activity actually moved me, there I recognised that, My God!!! I have been deferring hell lot of things which meant a lot to me. That one question from Varsha ma’am, “What are you waiting for?”, provoked this feeling in me. And I was like, hell yeah!!! What am I actually waiting for?, Deathbed? Things actually took a different path from that day.

AHA moment from this life class was, “Condolence meet” activity where I had to go back and think of people, who would talk about my character and contribution in their lives. All of sudden I felt so mattering in people’s lives (yes it made me cry too, khusi ke aansu you know).

The things I learnt from these sessions are,
– to have a mission statement of our own, which is a combination of character, contribution and achievement.
– to prepare the urgent-important matrix. This is an amazing tool I have been using since the day it was introduced to me. (sometimes not urgent and not important quadrant is a tad difficult to follow but yes doing my best)
– to be an empathetic listener indeed!!!
– to realise that different people have different perspectives and appreciating them for what they are.
– to be working as a team is the best way to work with.
– to not preoccupy our mind with conclusions.
– last but not least, try exercising win-win in any situation, this is a very pleasing feeling with fulfilment.

Thank you Swati ma’am and Varsha ma’am for being incredibly and wonderfully engaging facilitators, who were really mindful of the just the best mix of theory and practical presentations.

7 Habits Beta: The Genesis of a New Life

Initially, when I was told about attending life classes I was sceptical about it. It set my brain rolling and multiple questions popped up in my mind – Why life class? What is so special about it? Why should I attend it? Don’t I have enough experience of my own? Why should someone else need to tell me how to live?

As the sessions proceeded, life class was something that I looked forward to. It changed my perception of life. The 7 Habits are indeed life-changing for those who are willing to change. They are so simple and effective and requires just a small effort from us. Yes, the most important part of it is our inner self. If you are willing to accept these changes then it takes just one step to transform our lives, and that step is to initiate the change. The one thing I learnt from the 7 Habits class is that if you want the world around you to change then you must be the one to initiate it. Initially, it was difficult, but as time passed by, I realised that nothing is difficult in life, it is us who makes it difficult by not training our minds to accept changes.

Just a small step on my part was required to change my thinking, to build rapport with my students, to create a conducive environment around me while working, to build up a relationship with my children and most importantly to think positively.

Fountainhead is doing a great job by not only looking at the holistic development of students but also caring for the mental, spiritual and physical development of teachers as well.

7 Habits Beta- Reflection

Reading a book helps in gaining new knowledge, agreed! But the life class was more like living it. I know for a fact that if I had read the book 7 Habits, even though I would have gained all the knowledge, I am sure non of it would have actually transferred to my day to day life. The life class taught us to bring our understandings to life and for that I am really grateful. As we learned each habit with examples and activities, they git infused in my day to day life as well. Without consciously thinking on it, I found my self working on the lines of these habits.

Normally as we grow older, personal growth just becomes a really low priority and even though people make plans, very few of them come to fruition. Life class is this one opportunity where for those 9 days all you have to focus is on you, and this has been a truly wonderful opportunity for growth. I have learned a lot and have applied somethings in my everyday life, especially the Time Matrix, it’s something that has been really helpful and has kept me more organized. Life class was a good platform to share and learn, I would like to believe it has helped me come at least a tiny bit out of my shell.
