Food Exploration – Desi Delights: Unveiling Rare Indian Vegetables & Spices
The first session of our Food Exploration Season 3 was an exciting and enriching experience! We delved into the world of local fruits, vegetables, and spices—many of which are rarely used or even known to us. Given India’s incredible diversity, identifying produce from different regions can be quite a challenge, but we had a fun and engaging activity to explore them!
Through a sensory guessing game, we identified various fruits, vegetables, and spices—some by looking at images and others by using our senses while blindfolded. We touched, smelled, and tasted ingredients, making the experience both tricky and thrilling. From identifying cocoa seeds from Karnataka to Kudam Puli from Kerala and images of banana flowers, every moment was filled with curiosity and discovery.
This session truly set the tone for an incredible journey ahead in our Food Exploration series. A big thanks to Shanaz Ma’am for organizing such an informative and enjoyable experience!
