Critical thinking

This life class helped me to realise the importance of active listening. Rather than merely waiting for my turn to speak, I now engage in active listening, focusing on understanding the speaker’s perspective fully. This shift has helped me identify any potential biases or assumptions that might influence my response. By acknowledging these biases, I can respond more thoughtfully and present my ideas in a manner that is both respectful and persuasive.  Also on day 2 experiencing dramatic experience by Christopher Nolan was super fun!

7 Habits and Love-Beta_blog post_Vijan Masani

Greetings to all. I want to start by saying thank you to everyone who put up with my bakbak during the full two-day sessions. A sincere thank you to our facilitators for leading such a fantastic session. @Sufyan Saiyed @Jyoti Banthia I may have come out as monotonous, boring, annoying, too detailed, or sarcastic at times, but everything I said was done only for the goal of sharing. I have a tendency to trust others joyfully, as well as to share ideas that make me glad or excited. without any awareness of when to pause or how much to say.. I’m still working on it, as well as improving my speech, pronunciation, and use of Oxford English. So I want to say thanks for being such an amazing audience, completely without judgment. Really, that means a lot.
Another crucial point is that I must make one important commitment. Essential agreement. All of the information about our life that we have disclosed is private and sensitive. In light of this, I hereby declare that I will not spread rumors about or disclose information about such talks to anybody else. Likewise, I expect the same from each of you. Within our small life class family, please keep everything secret.

Life Class – 7 Habits + Love – Gamma

The Life class was held by Sir Ravindra Agrawal and Vaishali Patel Ma’am

It was my first life class which was an amazing experience it explained us about the vision of seeing things differently and in a broader horizon. Sir explained about the paradigm shifts that how we usually judge something in a different aspect where as the reality is something far more different. They also explained us how reactive we become, and that happens most of the time with me in personal life so how we should be proactive in our behaviour so that we don’t harm others sentiments so basically undoubtedly we don’t realize ourselves how we reacted. Sir and Ma’am gave us lot of real life examples which made our mind absorb different learnings from different people with different opinions. Learned alot in these classes and would like to improvise a few learnings and with a positive impact on myself.

Looking forward for more of these life classes and last but not the least the icing on the cake was Sir’s guitar and singing for energizers which we all cherished.

Critical Thinking

Critical thinking is a vital skill that involves analyzing, evaluating, and synthesizing information to make informed decisions and solve problems effectively.
We start out first day with activity like secret code ad sharing this secret code with other othet participate. And then we start start What is Critical thinking? When apply in our life. And we also learned about system 1 and system 2 of thinking process with our daily life.
Day – 2 We watched a movie “oppenheimer” where the whole movie was about atom bomb. And discuss on the different perspective of the participants.

Think Hard! Critical Thinking1

Recently had the privilege of attending my life class on critical thinking. The two-day workshop covered an array of essential topics that left a profound impact on my teaching approach. Additionally, the experience of watching the thought-provoking film “Oppenheimer” added a new dimension to my understanding of critical thinking and its real-world implications. In this blog, I will share my insights from the two days session and the connections I made with the movie. The day 1 kicked off by emphasizing the undeniable importance of critical thinking in today’s world. We were reminded of our responsibility to equip students with the skills to analyse information objectively, question assumptions, and approach problems from various angles. On day post movie a thought-provoking decision unfolded during the balance between scientific research and ethical considerations. We must address the ethical dilemmas that may arise when scientific advancements clash with societal values. The discussion inspired us to  weigh the implications of their decisions beyond the scientific realm and consider the broader consequences of their actions. The movie screening of “Oppenheimer,” a captivating film that delves into the life of J. Robert Oppenheimer, the physicist often called the “father of the atomic bomb.” As I watched “Oppenheimer,” I couldn’t help but draw parallels between the movie’s themes and the topics we explored during the training. J. Robert Oppenheimer’s story exemplified the complexity of critical thinking and the ethical challenges scientists can face.

The movie “Oppenheimer”  reminder that knowledge without ethical considerations and critical thinking can lead to unintended and destructive outcomes. We have a crucial role in nurturing the next generation’s ability to think critically and consider the impact of their decisions on the world.

Overall, the session and the film provided a powerful combination of theory and real-world application, motivating me to approach my teaching with renewed passion and commitment to fostering critical thinking skills among my students. I am grateful for this enlightening experience, and I’m excited to integrate these insights into creating a positive ripple effect for years to come.

Reflecting on 7 Habits day 1 & 2 (Delta)

I had the opportunity to participate in a Life class that was centered around the transformative principles of the 7 Habits. Through this course, I delved into essential concepts that have the potential to improve various aspects of my life.

Throughout the life classes, each habit unfolded its significance in my life. I realized that being proactive empowered me to take charge of my reactions to situations rather than being driven by them. Beginning with the end in mind gave me a renewed sense of purpose, enabling me to align my actions with my long-term goals. Putting first things first was a struggle initially, but with practice, I became better at prioritizing tasks and managing my time efficiently.

It has been a transformative experience that has equipped me with invaluable tools to lead a purpose-driven and fulfilling life. As I move forward, I am excited about the possibilities that lie ahead and the positive impact I can make on myself and others.

Experience of life class

I have heard a lot about the life class, and it was truly an enriching experience. I am immensely grateful to Utsav Sir and Wilmot Sir for providing us with such a precious opportunity.
Over the past two days, I had the incredible chance to immerse myself in a life class centered around the renowned “Seven Habits.” Guided by these principles, I underwent a profound transformation that I couldn’t have anticipated. The first habit, “Be Proactive,” set the stage for the entire experience. I realized that I held more power over my life than I had previously acknowledged.”Begin with the end in mind” served as my compass, reminding me to set clear intentions for each day and long-term aspirations for my life. This clarity brought a newfound sense of purpose and motivation. Moreover, “Put first things first” helped me prioritize tasks that aligned with my goals, reducing distractions and allowing me to focus on what truly mattered.
Key moments for me during the life class on days 1-2 include Utsav Sir’s compelling drama about father, Wilmot Sir’s captivating story-sharing, and the unexpected emergency singing session.
The life class provided an environment where we could learn and grow, surrounded by supportive mentors and engaging activities. It was a journey of self-discovery and personal development that I will cherish forever. These invaluable lessons and experiences will undoubtedly influence the way I approach life and make decisions in the future

Reflection of my Life Class

Participating in Life Class based on Dr. Stephen Covey’s book “The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People” has been a trans formative and eye-opening experience for me. The workshop focused on empowering individuals to develop their character and effectiveness in both personal and professional aspects of life. Here are some reflections on the key takeaways from the workshop:

Pro activity: One of the fundamental principles I learned was the importance of being proactive. Instead of being reactive to circumstances, the workshop emphasised taking initiative and responsibility for our own lives. Understanding that we have the power to choose our responses to events and situations was a powerful mindset shift.

Begin with the end in mind: Another significant concept discussed was starting with a clear vision of what we want to achieve in our lives. By setting long-term goals and aligning our actions with those goals, we can lead a purpose-driven life and avoid getting caught up in distractions.

Putting first things first: Time management and prioritisation were crucial aspects covered in the workshop. Dr. Covey’s Time Management Matrix, which categories tasks into quadrants based on urgency and importance, helped me identify areas where I could improve my productivity and focus on tasks that truly matter.

Think win-win: Learning about the win-win approach to interpersonal relationships was enlightening. Emphasising mutual benefit and cooperation rather than competition can lead to more sustainable and harmonious interactions with others.

Seek first to understand, then to be understood: Effective communication is a vital skill, and this habit stressed the importance of active listening and empathetic understanding before presenting our own ideas. This habit encouraged fostering a supportive and respectful environment in both personal and professional interactions

.Synergy: The concept of synergy taught during the workshop encouraged collaborative problem-solving and creative brainstorming. By valuing diverse perspectives and working together, we can achieve better outcomes than individual efforts.

Sharpen the saw: The final habit emphasised the significance of self-renewal and continuous improvement. Taking care of our physical, mental, and emotional well-being is essential to maintaining a sustainable and balanced lifestyle.Overall, the workshop based on “The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People” provided practical tools and insights that can be applied in various aspects of life. It highlighted the importance of character development, proactive behaviour, and fostering healthy relationships. I came away from the workshop feeling motivated to apply these habits to my daily life and work towards becoming a more effective and fulfilled individual.

First of all I would like to thank the school and their vision that puts an emphasis on creating a holistic environment for all of it’s stakeholders. The past two days went away in a hurry of happiness and life long learning experience. The class began with ‘life’ – my definition of perfect life and what is stopping us from our perfect life. It infact, lead us to contemplate life and its meaning. The next major idea was on paradigm shift and how we as individuals view the world and hoipolloi. This led to our understanding on how we respond or react to the world and its people and inturn it affects our concerns and what we influence. Thinking about death made our eyes rain but lead us to define our mission. Talking about mission, we learned to set our priorities and think about what we really care for. Lastly, we got to know about emotional bank account and what it really means.
