Unveiling Unseen Places

Visiting the Dholakiya family’s home today was a truly heartwarming experience, and it made me appreciate the true meaning of a home, which lies in the presence of a loving family. The saying “A home is where the family is” perfectly captures this sentiment. I realized that the family’s values are a testament to their character and upbringing. One important lesson I took away from this visit is the importance of generosity—specifically, giving 5 to 10% of our earnings to those in need. This act of kindness provides a profound sense of fulfillment and inner happiness, far surpassing the fleeting satisfaction that material possessions offer.

Exploring the world of Art

Embarking on a creative journey through various art classes has been an enriching and inspiring experience. From the intricate world of glue gun art to the soothing rhythm of pottery, each class has opened my eyes to the vast and diverse realm of artistic expression.

The first class introduced me to the fascinating world of glue gun art. Initially, I was skeptical about what could be achieved with a simple glue gun, but the results were nothing short of amazing. The instructor guided us through techniques, showcasing how this versatile tool could transform mundane objects into unique pieces of art. From creating textured canvases to crafting three-dimensional sculptures, the possibilities seemed endless.

Moving on, plastic canvas stitching brought a sense of precision and detail to my artistic repertoire. The rhythmic weaving of threads through the canvas allowed me to create intricate patterns and designs. This meditative process not only honed my focus but also produced stunning, tactile artworks that blended traditional stitching with modern aesthetics.

One of the highlights of the art classes was delving into the traditional Indian art form of Lippan. Originating from the Kutch region of Gujarat, Lippan art involves creating intricate mud and mirror work on walls. The vibrant colors and reflective surfaces added a touch of cultural richness to my artistic endeavors.

The tactile nature of pottery provided a therapeutic escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Getting my hands dirty and shaping clay into various forms was not only enjoyable but also a lesson in patience and mindfulness. The wheel throwing sessions and hand-building techniques allowed me to create functional and decorative pieces, each with its own unique charm.

Appreciation:

As I reflect on my journey through these diverse art classes, I am filled with gratitude for the talented instructors who shared their expertise and passion. Each class provided a space for self-discovery and personal expression. Beyond the technical skills acquired, the classes fostered a sense of community among fellow art enthusiasts. Attending these art classes has been a transformative experience, unlocking my creativity and broadening my artistic horizons. From glue gun art to pottery, each medium offered a unique avenue for self-expression. I leave these classes not just with newfound skills but also with a deep appreciation for the beauty that can be created when imagination meets craftsmanship.

Art is for All!

Through this course of 8 days, I could confidently say that art has no limits, no boundaries! It definitely does not need a degree or requires you to be an expert.

Art is all about creativity, patience, focus and a lot of fun! It was quite an amazing journey where I got to try my hands on a few amazing art forms like Lipan, pottery, fabric painting, embroidery and more!

My most favorite form of art that I am taking back with me is Lipan art. Understanding the steps and processes of the art form, I also explored it further and made one to gift someone too.

I would love to be a part of this workshop the following year too.Th ank you to my facilitators Neha ma’am and Priyanka ma’am for giving this platform to explore different art forms.

Wabi Sabi!

Art and craft has always had a special place in my heart… on this voyage I was able to unfurl my hidden love for pottery and many more artforms that we were introduced to. I feel delighted to have worked with art connoisseurs viz. Priyanka ma’am and Neha ma’am. Every piece that I created has my heart and yes a tad bit of brains as well for the technicalities that goes into creating an art piece…They say ‘beauty lies in imperfections’, hence the title -wabi sabi- is apt for all that I have learnt in this enlightening journey! Forever grateful to FS for this experience…

Art Therapy

How do you communicate?

Art teaches communication by providing another way of portraying feelings, ideas, and arguments to an audience besides words. Self expression can happen through creative means like drawing, painting, music and many more!
During the life class I was able to express myself through various means of art including paper mache, lippan art, fabric painting, pottery, not only this but also cooking and baking.
I enjoyed the creative process that helped me explore self-expression and, in doing so, find new ways to gain personal insight.
Art is truly therapeutic!

Embracing Creativity: A Journey of Exploring Art and Skills Workshop

I was eagerly looking forward to attending the Art and Skills workshop since the day it was announced as part of life classes. Finally, this year, I got the opportunity to attend these classes!

Not gonna lie, Day 1 was a little overwhelming seeing all the other participants doing such amazing artwork, and so quickly too! But gradually, I started exploring how I would like to work and what I’m interested in, and began enjoying these classes.I enjoyed creating some interesting art forms like pottery, acrylic cloth painting, and tissue paper art. The best part was doing mandala art whenever we had some time on hand.

The overall experience was rejuvenating with some fun conversations, good music, and a lot of interesting art projects.Thank you, Neha ma’am and Priyanka ma’am.

Art:Therapeutic and Self expression.

In the art and skills class, I learned many new art forms, some of which I already knew and others I tried for the first time. For years, I hesitated to draw human forms, thinking I wasn’t good at it. However, when I tried a few folk art forms such as Gond art, Madhubani art, and Phad art, I realized that I am good at it. All the art forms I tried were therapeutic, calming, and healing. I am passionate about art, and it brings me immense happiness while doing it. When engaged in any art form, I become completely engrossed and lose track of time.
