Life Class Alpha (AI)

Our first AI session gave us a new way of looking at AI. One of the biggest takeaways was that AI is not just Artificial Intelligence, it is Assistive Intelligence. It helps us think differently, and makes our work easier, but it cannot replace human intelligence.

We learnt that the AI’s answers depends on the prompts we give it. Through different activities, we saw how changing a prompt changes the response. We also noticed that some prompts could lead to biased answers, reminding us that AI is not always right and that we should always think critically before accepting its suggestions.

The session introduced us to PACE prompts, which help us ask better questions and get more useful responses. We also explored how AI can “wear different hats” to give us different perspectives and help us make better decisions. Ofcourse it depends on the questions we ask.

An important discussion was about the future, 10 yrs form now. While AI can automate some routine tasks, it also creates the need for new skills such as writing effective prompts, critical thinking, and evaluating AI-generated content. More importantly, qualities like empathy, creativity, communication, ethics, and judgement will always remain uniquely human. It will require AI auditor moving forward to check the AI content/ projects.

One of the highlights of the session for me was the hands-on activity where we used AI to work on our problem and make our own team/ task more effective or easy. It was exciting to see how different prompts produced different outcomes, and it was fascinating to watch the result evolve based on the way we framed our questions. It was a fun and practical exercise that showed the true potential of AI as an assistive tool.

The biggest learning from the session was simple: Use AI as an assistant, not as a replacement. It can save time, generate ideas, and improve productivity, but the final decision should always come from us. AI can support us, but the human touch will always make the difference.
