7 Habits + Relationships (Revamped) (Delta)

The first two days of our 7 Habits + Relationships (Delta) Life Class were a mix of fun, discussions and some serious thinking.

Day 1 made us look at a very simple question — What does a good life mean to me? While doing the activity, I realised that my idea of a good life is not only about success or achievements. It is also about having good people around me, spending time with family and friends, and enjoying the small things in life.

We also spoke about being proactive. The session made me realise that we may not always have control over what happens, but we do have control over how we react. This is something I would like to practise more in my daily life.

Another interesting part was the discussion on how our thinking can change the way we see a situation. The same situation can look very different when we understand the other person’s side. It was a good reminder to not make quick judgements.

Day 2 brought another important learning through the idea of the Iceberg. We usually see only the visible part of someone’s life. We do not know what is happening underneath — their struggles, worries, efforts or experiences. It made me feel that we should try to understand people before judging them.

The Circle of Concern and Circle of Influence was another concept that stood out for me. We spend a lot of time worrying about things that are not in our hands. Instead, it makes more sense to focus on what we can actually change or influence.

One activity that stayed with me was imagining that we had only 24 hours left. When I thought about what I would really want to do, most of it was about spending time with the people I care about. It made me realise how easily we can get caught up in everyday things and forget what is truly important.

Overall, these two days have given me a chance to pause, think and look at a few things differently. The sessions have been interactive and enjoyable, and I am looking forward to the next few days of Delta and the learnings they bring.
